Segway Coastal Rainforest Trek

Overview
Escape the crowds and snap stunning photos on an unforgettable Photo Trek! Head off the beaten track today to see the coastal sights of Juneau on a unique type of personal scooter - a Segway. You'll hit the road and the beach on this fun, 3 hour tour.

As you set out, you will immediately encounter views of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier. Cruise the coastline and make several stops for photos while you take in the pristine waters of Lynn Canal, part of the Inside Passage.

Because you are on a Segway, you will have the opportunity to intimately interact with nature. Listen for eagle calls in flight, the waves lapping the shoreline, and maybe even spy the occasional breaching humpback whale.

Then hop off your Segway and walk a short 7 minute trail to a secluded beach to enjoy locally sourced refreshments. Immerse yourself in the Tongass National Forest, a temperate rain forest and the largest National Forest in the US.

The scenery and wildlife was amazing! After a short lesson and practice we were off. Alex was great and allowed frequent stops to take pictures or to just soak in the beauty.

This is a must do if your visiting Juneau!! Alex, our guide, is not only a great tour guide but genuinely a wonderful person. He made sure that we were very comfortable and confident with our segways before we started the tour. We stopped at several scenic places from waterfalls to some great views of the snow capped mountains with Alex making sure we do not miss out on the beauty Juneau has to offer. This was followed by a hike at the rain forest to the beach. Alex gave a detailed explanation about the different endemic flora and fauna of Juneau along with happily taking pictures with a big smile every time I requested. Having never rid a segway before, it was one of the best fun experiences I had in a while!!

Visited on a cruise. Pick up was at the port by the tram station. Rueben and Ben were excellent guides. Made sure we were all comfortable on the segways before we started. This tour is away from all the crowds. It is half Segway riding and half (easy) hiking through a beautiful forest. We saw a lot of bald eagles and a porcupine on our tour. Rueben gets some great pics of everyone too. Highly recommend especially if you want to tour Juneau away from all the crowds.
