Segway Coastal Rainforest Trek

Overview
Escape the crowds and snap stunning photos on an unforgettable Photo Trek! Head off the beaten track today to see the coastal sights of Juneau on a unique type of personal scooter - a Segway. You'll hit the road and the beach on this fun, 3 hour tour.

As you set out, you will immediately encounter views of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier. Cruise the coastline and make several stops for photos while you take in the pristine waters of Lynn Canal, part of the Inside Passage.

Because you are on a Segway, you will have the opportunity to intimately interact with nature. Listen for eagle calls in flight, the waves lapping the shoreline, and maybe even spy the occasional breaching humpback whale.

Then hop off your Segway and walk a short 7 minute trail to a secluded beach to enjoy locally sourced refreshments. Immerse yourself in the Tongass National Forest, a temperate rain forest and the largest National Forest in the US.

We had such a great time on our off-roading segway tour! Reuben was so accommodating to our group and even skipped out on a hunting trip he wanted to go on, to keep his word to take us on the day we had available while we were in Juneau. The weather was forecast to be cloudy, but ended up pretty much raining the entire time. Since our group was up for it (we were a party of 7), Reuben and Brittany led without batting an eye. Iā€™m not even sure they noticed it was raining. For starters, I thought off-roading meant we would be on a beaten down trail through the woods, but we went on the road, along the coast, the whole time. Since some of our group had no experience, Reuben was patient and careful to explain the ins and outs of what we would be doing, and let us warm up on them before we hit the road. He made everyone feel comfortable. We had only a couple of cars pass us the entire time so traffic wasnā€™t an issue. They provided clean helmets for each of us to use, as well. We watched a quick video in the back of their trailer and we were off. One of the best parts was they had a walkie talkie radio strapped to each segue, so they could talk to us and tell us history and interesting tid-bits and stories as we rode. We stopped a couple of times, parked, and ā€œhikedā€ down to the beach (maybe a quarter mile?) where they even had brought some crackers and salmon spread for a snack. They really thought of everything! The scenery was beautifulā€”I can only imagine what it would have looked like if it was clear or sunny. Brittany was very sweet and, since she was born and raised there, shared a lot of interesting stories and information about nature and the forest where we walked. She was quite knowledgeable and they both made it so enjoyable! I would highly recommend this tour if you want to experience something very unique.

Your family was amazing. Quite the adventures to take on the liquid sunshine. You get the award for rainiest tour for the year. The laughter and good natured teasing was infectious. Thanks for riding with us.

The equipment and training were excellent! The view was gorgeous, altho it was slightly distracting to ride along the highway. We had a lovely break by hiking down to the water front and having a delicious snack. Rueben and his son were very personable.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate it! With our majestic mountains so close to the beaches/ocean we only have a narrow neck of land for a limited road system and available places to see our amazing views. We enjoyed sharing our beautiful vistas and city.

Unusually pleasant experience overall. Our tour guide was very resourceful but also very friendly and fun. I loved the Segway ride which was so easy & intuitive. Scenes they picked out was so picturesque. Highly recommend it
