We had a great time at Ididaride! Not only were the dogs amazing & adorable, but our guide was extremely knowledgeable and even competes herself so it was extremely interesting and fun to ask her questions about her 1st hand experiences! My husband and I did the "Real Alaska Tour" and had a great time. The only thing I would have changed would maybe have been a little more time with the dogs, by the end of the day the Seward tour started to drag a bit. But our guide (mike?) was enthusiastic and showed us many cool local spots we would not have found without his help. He was even nice enough to let us change the itinerary and make a brief stop for ice cream downtown! We loved our day with Seavey's!

Whether you are new to sled dog mushing or a big fan, Seavey's sled dog tour has something for everyone. We were very happy we took the Real Alaska Tour also. Joe was the best guide and showed us the main sites on land everything from the Exit Glacier to the spawning salmon to downtown Seward. You won't want to miss it!

We took the Coastal Classic rail trip from Anchorage and spent the day in Seward. Did the "Real Alaska" tour from the Seavey Family while there. Great experience. They were at the rail depot in Seward when we arrived, bus was very comfortable. Went to Kenai Fjords National Park and hiked to Exit Glacier, which was awesome, although we weren't expecting to walk across streams (would have been good to get a heads-up to wear the waterproof shoes back at our hotel). The walk wasn't bad, though - just a suggestion for future guests. Lunch was good and the tour of the dog kennel was a highlight of our trip. We got to meet all the dogs, go for a longer-than-expected dogsled ride in the woods, met and held puppies, and watched an interesting demonstration with the sweetest dog EVER, who allowed them to put all the Iditarod gear on him so we could see what it was like. Very interesting hearing about the life of a dog musher. These are very enthusiastic, dog loving people. Would highly recommend this tour, great way to spend a day in Seward. Oh, BTW, our tour driver (can't remember his name) was great, too. Very informative and patient. One of the older ladies on our tour was hesitant during the hike, and he held her hand while walking across the rocks. I thought that was so sweet of him!
