What To Expect

Resurrection Bay

Disembark your ship at Seward cruise terminal, then make your own way to Seward Small Boat Harbor; a courtesy shuttle service is available. Meet your expert wildlife guide, then hop aboard your cruise boat and take a seat either inside or on the open-air top deck. As your boat slips away from land, take in stunning views of snowcapped mountains, craggy cliffs and shocking blue glaciers, including mammoth Bear Glacier. Should you wish, there’s also an onboard bar where you can buy refreshments.

Fox Island

After an hour, come to a stop by Fox Island, a remote islet that boasts luscious rainforests, skipping stone beaches and secluded coves. Step ashore with your guide and, depending on the option selected, head inside a cozy lodge for a scrumptious lunch. As you eat, watch a fascinating presentation by a National Park Ranger. After lunch, round off your visit with an hour of free time at ‘skipping stone’ beach. Then head back to your boat for your return journey across Resurrection Bay.

Captain Hawaiian Mike and the crew were great. We did the five hour tour with a pit stop on Fox Island. We got lucky with the ship being only 50% full so there were plenty of seats to go around. The trip started with a ride out to fox Island first. The island is beautiful and has lots of nice scenery. The lunch was just okay... either chicken or salmon with mashed potatoes, corn, salad, and a roll. The food is very basic, and that would be my biggest suggestion for improvement. The chicken tasted like a frozen patty heated in the microwave, the potatoes were instant which is okay but they were super salty. The corn was surprisingly good and had a good flavor, as well as the salad was nice and fresh with a few options of dressing to choose from. Back to the tour itself the ride was smooth and we saw some wildlife. A few seals, birds, puffins, but unfortunately no whales. That probably would have made the trip if we were able to see even one, but I know this isn't a whale cruise. We did pull up as close as you can get to one glacier, but this isn't a glacier tour so it was a nice treat. I did enjoy going to the galley and getting a naughty otter, so I recommend that! They also pass out a fresh baked cookie toward the end of the ride.

Beautiful scenery, good food, and a captain who knew a lot about the area. Even saw a humpback. The boat was comfortable and safe.

Everything was good, but disappointed at Fox Island. Got coffee and it was not hot. Tried to get another cup after the meal and it was empty. Other than that all was good. Crew on the boat were top notch.
