I have been using airport shuttles from HNL for over 30 years and never have had to wait an hour for the Shuttle as I did with SPEEDIshuttle. Plus we took the long way into Waikiki along the piers. I write for travel magazines online, with over a million readers, and Trip Advisor.

As an experience traveler, and who's writes for travel magazines, we feel more than anyone you should understand the logistics of travel these days and how they effect what you compare to your 30 years experience. Arrival shared shuttles do not have a scheduled departure time. Due to COVID screening shuttle are held longer at the airport to accommodate guests previously paired on the same shuttle to clear the screening before leaving the airport. In terms of the route your driver took, the route is the most efficient route to Waikiki. The representatives from the shuttle company were present and we were able to board the shuttle within about 20 minutes of retrieving our luggage. The driver was pleasant and drove safely. We haven’t completed our return to the airport yet but so far so good!
