Shell Island Snorkel and Dolphin Catamaran Cruise with Island Time

Overview
The 3-Hr Shell Island Snorkel & Dolphin Cruise aboard the Island Time Sailing Catamaran is a great way to have fun in the sun and enjoy the best of what Panama City Beach has to offer! Cruise over to Shell Island where you and the whole family can snorkel to find exciting shells and sea life, swim up to the island to explore or paddle board around the boat. After about an hour you will depart the island to head out to the Gulf for sightseeing and dolphin watching and sailing! The cruise ends with contests and dancing. We offer 2 different catamarans for this trip. They are very similar, but have a few differences. The "Island Time" is equipped with a water slide and no over the water nets. While the "Island Time II" has over the water nets located in the front of the boat and no water slide.  (Please note: This tour departs from Panama City Beach, FL, which is about 3 hours East of Pensacola.)

I don’t know how to rate this because my snorkel trip didn’t involve any snorkeling. I want to start by saying that overall, we are not incredibly unhappy with the experience as a whole. The boat was exceptionally clean with plenty of room for all passengers to relax comfortably. The bartender was incredibly personable. The deck hands were fun and knowledgeable. The complaint we have is that the weather conditions were NOT favorable and they still took us out. Winds were extreme and there were double red flags and you could only snorkel the bay side if you cared to brave the weather. The winds were so high, they couldn’t even use the sails on the boat because he couldn’t control it. Everyone had to bundle up for the trip and most brought blankets. It was almost unbearable. The captain even told us he felt bad for us and was considering cancelling the remainder of the trips for the day. This was all super disappointing as we paid over $100 to snorkel and couldn’t. We basically paid for a boat ride to shell island which of course isn’t nearly as costly. We wouldn’t have went but the captain was willing to go, therefore if we didn’t, we wouldn’t have been able to get our money back. Just a forewarning to others who may be highly disappointed by not getting to actually snorkel or get into the water period.

We enjoyed seeing the dolphins. I wish it weren’t so cold that day because it took away from the experience.
