I highly recommend the Richmond Tour Guys. The prices are fair, and their guides are knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and sometimes even funny. I took three of their tours and each tour provided a solid foundation for appreciating the varied facets of Richmond's considerable history, as well as what this city can currently offer visitors and residents. I am not sure I could have learned and experienced as much and as quickly in any other format.

This was a great walking tour through some of the oldest parts of the city. Areas we walked around were the Canal area with beautiful views of the river, the city flood walls, murals along the canal, near buildings such as the Holocaust Museum, the Mason Hall, the Poe Museum, the Slave Market, and the Main Street Railroad Station. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the area from the 1700's through the civil war and the present. It was nice to take a leisurely walk through the area and learn so much history. I had plenty of time to ask questions and take photos, as well as time to sit down for a break from walking. I look forward to taking another tour of the city with this group.

We enjoyed the over view of historic sites of Richmond. It was quite a hot day with a lot of walking-obviously 2 hours. Would have been nice to have a couple of seated talks in the shade. We did have one towards the end but maybe another one earlier.
