City Brew Tours Pittsburgh
We will pick you up at 112 Washington Place to start your unforgettable craft beer journey. We couldn’t count how many bridges & tunnels we traveled in search of the best craft breweries and beer Pittsburgh has to offer. If it weren’t for Pittsburgh being split by 3 rivers, there’s a good chance there may not be enough water to support this many breweries in one city! From the smallest, newest nano-breweries to independent craft breweries with age-old history, we sought out the brewers who helped bring craft beer to the ‘burgh and focused on developing strong relationships with each of them so we could give you unfettered access to their spaces and suds. Our tour itineraries vary amongst several great breweries including Strange Roots, Allegheny City Brewing, Couch Brewing and other described below.

Inner Groove Brewery
This is a sample itinerary, all schedules are subject to change. During the musical heyday of the ’60s and ’70s, bands used to place hidden messages and secret songs on the ‘inner groove’ of vinyl records. At Inner Groove Brewing, you won’t find any hidden messages but you will find a wealth of great beer. Inner Groove opened its doors in June of 2019 as the brainchild of two husband and wife couples. Tim & Kelly Melle and Kevin & Jennifer Walzer founded the brewery as a representation of their passion for great beer and good music. Nestled in the town of Verona, Inner Groove is poised to become a vital part of the up-and-coming quaint neighborhood just north of the Steel City.

Hop Farm Brewing Company

At Hop Farm, they are dedicated to the responsible use of our natural resources, from production to packaging and everywhere in between. They are proud Pittsburgher’s who look to source local wherever possible, whether in the brewhouse or the kitchen.

We had a client from Japan and wanted to do something a little different. Danielle was great in offering suggestions and setting up a private tour. We did 3 breweries, Couch, Penn (where we had a meal), and Southern Tier. Couch Brewery opened up just for us and it was so quaint and nostalgic. They were generous in their offerings, knowledgeable about brewing, and so personable. They opened their doors to us like we were family. The food sampling, paired with the beers at Penn was super. Gave everyone a little taste of Germany and Pittsburgh. We did a quick stop at Southern Tier and loved the atmosphere of it and the beer options. Eric L was our tour guide and he was fabulous. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and engaged with us instead of just talking at us. Overall a super experience and can't wait to have the opportunity to do it again. Thanks

My wife and I took an after hours brew tour yesterday and had a really great time. Our tour guide, Brian led us to four local breweries and we sampled a few beers at each and had dinner at one. The breweries we toured were mostly more recent editions to the Pittsburgh brewing scene and we got an inside look into their setup and how beer is made and learned a lot plus finding some new places in the city worth coming back to. All in all a great time and I would definitely do again especially since the breweries vary by tour.

We had a great time! Our beer guide Eric L was a lot of fun. He was very knowledgeable about the different processes the breweries we toured use. The tour was well organized. I tried everything and found that I liked many of the beers that I never thought I would like. We met and enjoyed the company of some really nice people which made the experience even better. We are trying to talk some friends into a visit so we can do it again!
