Great find on our travels to Nebraska. If you enjoy camping this museum is a must. We are tent campers, however some of the museum pieces look like tents. Advancement in technology within the travel equipment was awesome to see. There are travel trailer displays that will give you the creeps, laughs, and appreciation for the modern day trailer. We did visit just after the museum reopened due to Covid 19. The staff does a great job keeping the museum, displays and restrooms clean. Plenty of RV parking.

It stumbled upon this place, and I am glad that I did. Even if you are not an RV person, this is a great spot to see.

We went to Elkhart primarily to visit the Hall of Heros Superhero Museum, and added this to our visit to Elkhart. What a wonderful, interesting, quiet, clean place to visit. We do not have an RV, but this museum covers the history of camping/RV-ing from the early 1900's (and earlier?? - I think), with wagon/truck campers through the highest end RV's. We had a fun time looking at all of them, my husband remembering his childhood days in an early pop-up camper, and us both being amazed at the 42' "RV" from an early aircraft company CEO. In another wing of the museum is a model of the modern RV production floor, showing how an RV is manufactured. It was interesting to see that too. Admission staff was delightful.
