Skip the Line: North Point Lighthouse Admission Ticket

Overview
The North Point Lighthouse and Museum is a beautifully restored landmark and museum located between two ravines in picturesque Lake Park on Milwaukee's historic East Side. It is one of the city’s oldest structures and features a 74-foot tower and Queen Anne-style keeper's quarters. Museum exhibits and artifacts tell the history and stories about Milwaukee's lighthouses, the keepers who maintained them, and Great Lakes maritime industry.

Built in 1888, the unique octagonal lighthouse guided a bustling maritime trade on the Great Lakes for almost 100 years. When Frederick Law Olmsted, architect of New York City’s iconic Central Park, was commissioned to design Lake Park, he built the grand Lion Bridges to join the north and south sections of the park—placing the North Point Lighthouse in the middle as the park’s crown jewel.

North Point Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Lighthouses and the National Register of Historic Places.

Really enjoyed the interior historical displays, the beautiful gardens & surrounding area outside and the climb up to the top. We had a great weather day and had excellent views all around. Extremely friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Parked right on the street nearby. Well worth it to spend time exploring the area.

I found this lighthouse because it came up when googling, "pretty places in Milwaukee" - google did not let me down. The lighthouse is very pretty and you don't feel like you're in a city at all. The park behind it is beautiful too, I ended up walking the path all the way until I had to turn off to head back toward the third ward, where I was staying. The views are gorgeous (as you'd expect from a lighthouse) and the building and site are very well maintained.

I was just wandering around the area and found this beautiful Lighthouse. It is very much worth a visit! People in there were so friendly and passionate, which I did not experience in any other museum in Milwaukee. Plus: go on the top to have a beautiful view! Walk around in the Neighborhood. There are beautiful parks, houses and also beaches.
