Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum
The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum offers self-guided tours through the Museum during operating hours, daily from 9 am - 5 pm. We have extended hours during Cheyenne Frontier Days. The Museum has its own parking lot next to the Cheyenne Lions Park and Botanic Gardens, and offers a Museum gift store. All exhibits are ADA accessible. The Museum offers two art shows throughout the year: a 6-week art show run in March and April (the juried Western Spirit Art Show & Sale) and a 4-week art show run in July and August (the invitational Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show and Sale). When these art shows are not on display, the Museum proudly shows its collection of historic carriages. The Museum's mission is to cultivate and preserve the Western legacy of Cheyenne Frontier Days and its vision is to be an accredited, sustainable, culturally dynamic community asset that tells the thrilling story of Cheyenne Frontier Days and how it relates to the story of Cheyenne, and how this event continues to be relevant and impact this community.

This quaint museum is a great stop if you're into Old West transportation! There were tons of buggies, carriages, and turn-of-the-century automobiles inside, all of which were beautifully restored. There were also several exhibits describing how Frontier Days came to be and its significance to the town and region. Vehicles aren't really my cup of tea (I found the museum a bit boring) which is why I gave it an average rating. To a vehicle connoisseur, however, this is a must-see!

On the grounds of the Frontier Days complex, this western museum highlights the significance of the Frontier Days celebration to this town. Past rodeo and beauty queens are given a place of honor in an almost hall of fame style. It also houses one of the largest collections of horse drawn wagons and buggies in the west. Also included is a small collection of western art. A MUST see while in town to help a visitor appreciate this town's civic pride in its western heritage.
