Overview

This relaxed and scenic 7-mile roundtrip journey departs the Depot in downtown Fort Bragg year-round, traveling along the beautiful Pudding Creek Estuary and passing into primeval ancient redwoods to the tranquil setting of Glen Blair Junction.

Trains will stop at Glen Blair Junction for 15 minutes, allowing you to get off and stretch your legs and explore. Or, if you’d like to spend more time walking our trails amongst the redwoods, you can remain and catch the next train (roughly two hours later). Plenty of time to explore. Feel free to bring a packed lunch (no alcohol, please) to enjoy at one of our picnic tables.

These were some of the first tracks ever laid down by the California Western Railroad in 1885, and we've been carrying passengers on them ever since.

Did not realize how short of a train ride it was. It was only 45 minutes up and back on the train total and 45 minutes sitting around or playing games. There was no bar and no music to speak of. Very disappointing for the price of $49.95 a person! If I had read the reviews we would not have gone. A total ripoff!!

Great time! Wished the train ride was longer but enjoyed the views along the way. Loved the nostalgia charm of the old trains and the old time music being played at check in. Enjoyed the narration up and back. Loved that they had drinks and snacks on board or you could bring your own food. Enjoyed riding in the open flat car on the return trip. The welcoming and relaxed pudding creek dept was great. Fantastic family experience! Good for young and old!

We have always loved this trip through the redwoods, but the addition of the stop at Glen Blair Junction has just made it even more fun. Now you can take a short hike and still have time for a cold drink before you return.
