What To Expect

Boulder City

Start your tour with pick-up from select hotels on Las Vegas Blvd. Heading east, you'll arrive at historic Boulder City, a town built originally to house the workers of the Hoover Dam. This is where it all started! Discover the history of this quaint little town on the outskirts of Las Vegas!

Hemenway Park

You will make a short stop at Hemenway Park, well known for where Desert Big Horn Sheep hang out!

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

You'll stop at Lake Mead Lookout for an amazing panoramic view of Lake Mead and learn about the history of the lake and its present troubles and other interesting facts.

Hoover Dam Bypass

Next, you'll make a stop at the Hoover Dam bypass Bridge (Mike O’Callagham - Pat Tillmam Bridge) where you have the opportunity to walk up to the bridge, almost a 1000ft above the Dam. Here, you'll enjoy an incredible view of the Dam and Colorado River. Your tour guide will tell you interesting facts and how the the Hoover Dam was constructed. This is a view not to be missed!

Hoover Dam

Enjoy a drive over the top of the Hoover Dam. You'll make stops at various points for more info and photo ops of the dam and Lake Mead. After this mini Hoover Dam tour, you'll return to the Las Vegas Strip.

Seven Magic Mountains

Upgrade your Hoover Dam tour to include a stop at the Ugo Rondinone art installation in the middle of the Mojave Desert. These colorful stacked rocks make for the most instagrammable moments in Las Vegas!

We took this trip in May 2022 and our guide was Viktor. You are sent a text the day before confirming your pick up time and location. They pick you up from your hotel on the strip, we were staying at The Venetian hotel and our pick up location was the Treasure Island hotel opposite (behind the Starbucks) and was relatively easy to find. The pick up was prompt and on time, it was slightly confusing as we were advised to look out for a white van with the hoover dam on the side that said “Mr Las Vegas Tours” and there were two vans matching this description. The first to arrive was not ours and there was some confusion from the driver as to if that was our tour or not. Our driver Viktor did call us and we got on the van with no further problems. The van was for small groups and there were 8 people On our tour (including us). The tour starts in Las Vegas as you head out towards the Hoover dam (approx 45 mins drive) and Viktor gave us loads of history about Las Vegas and the dam. We stopped at the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge for about 30 minutes to get a good view of the dam and to take photos (there is also a bathroom here should you need it). We then headed through Boulder City and just over the dam for an additional stop for 10 minutes to take photos. Viktor was very knowledgable and friendly. The tour is a great way to see the dam if you’re short on time and not looking to explore the dam museum. We then called at a local park in Boulder City to see the local wild mountain sheep - although there is no guarantee of a sighting. On the way back we headed back into Las Vegas before heading out again for the additional 7 Magic Mountains stop. I’d recommend adding this on, purely to see and take a photograph. Water is included and I would recommend sensible footwear, although there’s not a lot of walking so sandals would also be suitable.
