Small-Group Clear Kayak Tour in Shell Key

Overview

We've created a fascinating kayak tour in St Pete, centered on our Crystal Clear kayaks, giving you a fascinating look at the sea life throughout Shell Key preserve, and Fort Desoto park. Our professional guides provide an interesting narration of the local wildlife and ecosystem. The tours can range from 2 persons to 16 people, and are approximately 2 to 2 -1/2 hours long. The tours will primarily operate in the protected waters and mangroves tunnels of the Shell Key Wildlife Preserve in Pinellas County. An 1,800 acre preserve, these waters are well traveled by Dolphins, Manatees, Rays, as well as a variety of shore birds, including pelicans, egrets, herons, cormorants, osprey, and sometimes roseate spoonbills.

Please note: This activity is NOT suitable for the Elderly or the Obese, or people with back surgeries/issues, or with a history of other physical ailments. You must be physically fit for participate in this activity.

My mom and I have never kayaked before and this was so much fun! Kristen was our tour guide and she was incredible. She was so knowledgable of the area and the wild life, she was also very personable. The preserve that we visited was so beautiful and peaceful, and we found so many cool shells. On our way back from the tour we saw dolphins feeding. There are many kayak tours in St. Petersburg but this one is unique because of its clear kayaks. The kayaks allowed us to view wild life below us and really see how beautiful the water and area was. We would definitely do this tour again, and I recommend anyone looking for a beautiful kayak ride to visit Island Ferry Eco Tours and do the clear kayak tour!

We booked a last minute kayak tour (easy to do online) and were not disappointed! Our tour guide, Justin, was super fun, knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. If you want an exciting day trip in St Pete to learn about the wildlife, mangroves, and the area - Justin & Island Ferry are the way to go!

Went to St. Pete for a quick getaway and found these clear kayak tours they were a bit more pricy than most other tours but completely worth it. By far was one of the best experiences I have had with kayaking. The clear kayaks were really fun and saw lots of wildlife. I went during the day but at night they have lights installed on them which would make kayaking that much more exciting. We had an awesome tour guide, Justin. Very knowledgeable about all the wildlife we saw. He was very friendly and professional and gave us a list of great local places to visit before you leave. This would be a great activity for couples, friends, and families! It does require physical activity so small children wouldn't be recommended unless they are just going to enjoy the ride.
