Small-Group Clear Kayak Tour in Shell Key

Overview
We've created a fascinating kayak tour in St Pete, centered on our Crystal Clear kayaks, giving you a fascinating look at the sea life throughout Shell Key preserve, and Fort Desoto park. Our professional guides provide an interesting narration of the local wildlife and ecosystem. The tours can range from 2 persons to 16 people, and are approximately 2 to 2 -1/2  hours long.  The tours will primarily operate in the protected waters and mangroves tunnels of the Shell Key Wildlife Preserve in Pinellas County. An 1,800 acre preserve, these waters are well traveled by Dolphins, Manatees, Rays, as well as a variety of shore birds, including pelicans, egrets, herons, cormorants, osprey, and sometimes roseate spoonbills.

Justin and Kristin were amazing. We did have a lot of wind and they let, and encouraged, anyone who didnt want to get sore shoulders and arms to rebook or cancel at no expense, however we went ahead and went. So glad we did. Yes, it was a little more work paddling butt it was well worth it. The mangroves were incredible to kayak thru amd we saw dolphins and actually kayaked over a manatee. Would highly recommemd and can't wait to go back.

We booked a kayaking tour last minute and (the company) was very accommodating. What a great experience! Our tour guide, Kristen, clearly has a lot of passion for what she does. We are tourists, so many of the things we saw on our adventure out to shell key were things we were seeing for the first time. Kristen showed just as much enthusiasm as we did, if not more. Kayaking through the Mangroves was a unique experience that we will be doing again on our next trip down. My husband and I had a tandem kayak. It took us a while to find our sync, I think next time we will do two singles. We went through three mangroves on our way to shell key and saw fish, birds (including a cormorant right by our kayaks and roseate spoonbill up in the mangrove trees), mangrove crabs, and an oyster bed. It was really neat being able to see the fish through the clear bottom kayaks. Out on shell key we were able to shore our kayaks and take a walk along the sandy shore and look for shells. Overall a great experience!

We have all kayaked before, but the clear bottom kayaks were really cool! Kristin was our tour guide and did an amazing job. She was very fun and very knowledgeable about every plant and animal we saw. She pointed out things we never could have noticed on our own. Highly recommend!
