What To Expect
1
Denver Union Station
We’ll begin our tour at the historic and grand Union Station, where we take in the splendor of “downtown Denver’s living room”. Your guide will give a brief introduction to the beginnings of the Mile High City and it’s early associations with alcohol.
2
LoDo
We’ll then head out into the heart of lower downtown, also known as LoDo. Your guide will navigate you through the historic, brick-building-lined streets to a few of their favorite local bars. You may start out with a delicious libation at one of Denver’s oldest bars or find yourself in the dark recesses of a subterranean speakeasy spilling over with references to the city’s founding pioneers. As you take in the ambience of each establishment, your guide will let you in on the ingredients and background of each drink. You’ll come to appreciate Denver’s place in the realm of cocktails from all over the world, and we may even get to try a truly local twist on time-honored classics. We’ll dispel the myths and shed some light on controversies surrounding a few of the most popular drinks on the menu.
3
Larimer Square
Cocktail connoisseur or not, you’ll end your tour with a greater appreciation of Denver’s craft cocktail scene, all the while exploring LoDo’s iconic Larimer Square and surrounding area. Your local guide will have plenty of recommendations for more cocktails, great local beer, and a bite to eat all around Denver.

A cocktail journey through space and time, like none other. Thank you KRISTINA for such a fun experience during our first-but-not-last visit to Denver! We would recommend this tour to just about everyone, because there is something for everyone here - no matter what your personal taste or preference…. - A beer drinker? Calm down Francis. You will still have lots of fun. - Only like certain cocktails and worried you will have nothing to drink? Fear not, small thinker. It’s time to broaden your horizons. - Not a history buff (who cares about that statue!) but still want interesting information? Listen up - fun and useful information coming your way to amaze your friends! During this tour you will do a small loop of cocktail establishments the Lodo area, having a cocktail at each and learning about the history of prohibition and the background on cocktails that you have no idea existed. You will also make some friends and have some stories to tell. It was fun to have our guide pick the drinks for us based on “flavor profiles” instead of “type-of-spirit”. I found myself drinking an Old Fashioned and enjoying it, and I am not a bourbon person. Can’t even spell it (I had to look it up). Still, it was varietal and enjoyable. The amount of history shared during the 2.5 hours or so was perfect - it was captivating with a local twist, and the cocktails were arranged to coincide with the narrative: pre-Prohibition, during, and modern. You may also discover some new places to imbibe during your visit here. Tours like these bring together a delightful mix of people you would never meet otherwise - we had a couple from Indiana, the Texas contingent, a few locals, and was rounded out by some military sons who traveled from Japan on leave for New Years. Great mix of people and backgrounds. Our guide KRISTINA (I write it in upper case because it seems to suit her) was high energy, fun, and made the experience engaging for all. We’d do this tour again the next time we are in town for sure!

What's better than drinking craft cocktails in Denver's hip and lively Lower Downtown? Doing it with a smart and likeable guide like Lee. He had us order drinks by flavor profile and it was fun to find out the ingredients used and the names of the drinks when they arrived. We visited three distinct and well-chosen bars, each with an interesting history that deepened our experience of Denver. Who knew you could learn while drinking? This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys exploration and nightlife.

Both informative and a lot of fun! The leader Lee was personable and very attentive to the needs and preferences of our small eight person group. Lots of good conversation ensued with the three other couples all from different areas of the country. Highly recommend, you learn a lot about cocktails and their history then get to enjoy them!
