I'd have to admit, at the beginning, I thought its going to be a long bike ride along the beach. However, I was wrong. Its electric bike, so it look like a bicycle but it feels like riding a moped. When I first tried their riding, its a little heavier than I would thought, but after a little practice, I start getting used to it. I think 2 things made me had a rough start, first of all, I am short (5'1), and even when they lower the seats I still have a hard time reaching the ground when I was on the bike. Second, I am not very strong and the bike is a little heavy compare to my bike at home. These don't really bothered me, because once I learn how to use the power properly, I can ride it well like everyone. Our guide, Barb, who also owns' the business was very nice. While we were on the tour, she talked about the local history, and tour around the beach. We had a lots of photo opportunities on the way which I enjoyed a lot. We went on the afternoon tour, which started at 2. The weather was nice, however, with 15 mph speed riding along the beach, it getting a little cold when the sun start going down. So, definitely bring a light jacket for that. The bike tour itself won't make you sweat, unless you choose to ride the whole time. I will recommend this tour for people who want to visit Santa Monica but don't have couple days to spend there. This tour will help you sample Santa Monica and Venice area in a nice and fun way.

To celebrate a recent anniversary, my husband and I were looking for something different to do in and around the beach cities in LA. We both love Santa Monica and decided to go on an Electric Bicycle Guided Tour with Pedal or Not. What a blast!! Barb and Stephen, the owners, welcomed us warmly and after a few minutes practice, we were off and pedaling (or not). I honestly thought I'd make myself pedal most of the 17 miles, but using the electric part of the bike was so fun and easy that I let the bike do the work for me. Barb was our guide, and I was impressed with the tour she put together. We stopped at some Santa Monica and Venice landmarks that I had not discovered before. Her stories were fun and interesting. We appreciated the opportunity to take some beautiful photos along the way, especially of the Pier and the Venice Canals. We were not rushed, it was a leisurely pace, and was just plain fun. I especially loved exploring the canals up close and personal. I've lived in LA 10 years and have never taken the time to do this. This is the perfect tour to combine a little (or a lot) of exercise, enjoy some beautiful scenery, learn a little history and breathe some clean beach air. Whether a local or a visitor to the area, check out Pedal or Not for a unique adventure in Santa Monica and Venice!
