Small-Group Everglades Boating Kayaking and Walking Eco Tour

Overview
We are the "Quiet Alternative to an Airboat Ride". A boating, kayaking and walking tour in Everglades National Park. Our most popular tour!
Park at our shop, a local historic building. Please don't forget to pet Crash the Cat!
With your Florida Master Naturalist Guide, you will take a short golf cart ride to your boat.
On the boat, while searching for dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, rosette spoonbills, herons, egrets, ospreys, eagles and shore birds, learn about the Everglades different ecosystems, its long history and rich culture.
At 1st sheltered destination, we will deploy very stable kayaks. The stealth of the kayak allows you to get close to the flora and fauna.
Our next destination is an uninhabited barrier island beach where you will be led on a leisurely, hands-on walking tour. Expect to see more seashells than you ever have.
After the walk, we are back in the kayaks, then the boat, then the golf cart and back to Crash the Cat.

We had a wonderful time with our guide Carter. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job with the kids. This tour gave us the opportunity to learn a lot about the mangrove. We had a lot of close encounters with the wildlife but felt safe at every point of time. I would recommend it over an airboat ride.

We went on the eco tour with Captain Don. He is so laid back, explains in great detail all of the flora and fauna that we saw. And there was a lot to see - dolphins, osprey with babies, cormorants (and juvenile cormorants and he told us how to tell the difference), a great horned owl, ibis, blue herons (including a baby blue heron!). Told us a lot about mangroves. Including how they propagate. Don was a wealth, no, a font of information. Definitely ask for Don if you are going to take this tour. Also, make sure you go at low tide. We went at high tide and he told us all the things the people who had toured at low tide saw. Definitely would do this again!

Truly appreciate Danā€™s passion for the environment and his knowledge to share with us. My daughter sponged up every word he said about the Mangroves and Sea Life around it. To see the dolphins in their natural habitat collecting their fish was so much better than looking at them encased in an aquarium. Osprey nests filled with chicks and Mom and Pop not far away keeping watch. Even some horseshoe crabs mating at a shoreline of one of the islands was an experience. If you want a true encounter with nature around you this was a perfect trip. Of course my daughter would prefer a daily exploration and this is one way to allow her to discover the world with people like this that offer just a little more than most with ways to make a living but respecting the environment and our animals that live among us. Thanks so much. We look forward to another trip for sure.

Thank you for your review. We are dedicated to education. We feel that it is only through education we help save what is left of the Everglades ... while there is still time.
