Small-Group Everglades Boating Kayaking and Walking Eco Tour

Overview
We are the "Quiet Alternative to an Airboat Ride". A boating, kayaking and walking tour in Everglades National Park. Our most popular tour!
Park at our shop, a local historic building.
With your Florida Master Naturalist Guide, you will take a short golf cart ride to your boat.
On the boat, while searching for dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, rosette spoonbills, herons, egrets, ospreys, eagles and shore birds, learn about the Everglades different ecosystems, its long history and rich culture.
At 1st sheltered destination, we will deploy very stable kayaks. The stealth of the kayak allows you to get close to the flora and fauna.
Our next destination is an uninhabited barrier island beach where you will be led on a leisurely, hands-on walking tour. Expect to see more seashells than you ever have.
After the walk, we are back in the kayaks, then the boat, then the golf cart and back to home base

Note: June through October, we suggest the morning experiences due to the weather.

My adult son and I included this adventure to tour the Everglades. Only the 2 of us were on the tour. Our captain was well versed in nature, local history and the Everglades. We began in the boat, stopped on an island to see the nature, and spend time kayaking between the mangrove Islands. Highlights included 4 dolphin leaping in the wake of the boat, young osprey still in the nest, and our interesting captain-guide. We would definitely do the trip again.

Our trip was perfect, it was a beautiful morning and Captain Dan was awesome! He’s very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. He pointed out wildlife, including a bald eagle and an osprey family, and told us about the history of the indigenous people…among other things. Lastly, he turned us on to Boatwreck BarBQ and Seafood, located next to Smallwood Store…yummy!! The early morning drive from Key Largo was well worth it!!

Amazing kayak tour through the mangroves. Our guide, Ron, provided a wealth of information about the plants and animals. Made the trip easy even for those who have limited experience kayaking.
