Small Group Florida Keys Eco Tour by Boat

Overview
Tour the Florida Bay looking for dolphins and manatees while listening to an overview of the Florida Keys ecosystem.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience! We also have a cooler stocked with ice, so feel free to bring any other snacks or drinks.

Loved the small boat tour experience! Captain Cutler was wonderful ā€“ fun, friendly, and very knowledgeable from local wildlife to nightlife. We are going to a restaurant he recommended for lunch today; I have every confidence that will be just as great! Thank you Pirates Cove Watersports for the highlight of our vacation

I learned less on this eco tour than I have on others. Eco is not about expensive homes, where to eat, and other unrelated topics. Additionally, talking privately to one couple for 90% of the trip was rude and disrespectful to the rest of us. It was a pleasant boat ride.

I do apologize for your experience with us on the eco tour. I know some captains go through Adam's cut where all the houses are and some people do enjoy seeing them but you should have heard more about mangroves, the wonderful marine life along with other wildlife. Captains should be spending time with everyone on boat. We would love for you to give us a chance to make it up to you. Next time you are in Key Largo I hope you will try us again. Thank you for your feedback, we really do appreciate it.

I lived in the Keys for one summer teaching Fl Keys ecology to grade-HS students. Captain Russ was accurate and good at finding wildlife. He had a good sense of humor and had my 9 year old giggling quite a few times. Unbeknownst to Captain Russ, he really cut deep when he started talking about gutting and eating sharks to my extreme shark loving kiddo (who started crying). Part of me thinks this is a lifestyle thing but I also think for a tour labeled ā€œecoā€ this could probably be omitted. Also, we sat at the rear of the boat and Captain Russ is quite a chain smoker. Although it mostly was carried away by being on a boat, my preference is certainly to not have smoking on an eco tour. My family had a fun time, we saw sharks and manatees and nesting green heron and a dash of pirates, local history and celeb talk. The boat is small, making it quite enjoyable and semi-private. I think the price is well suited for the excursion and would recommend it to friends.
