Destrehan Plantation

Travel to the historic Destrehan Plantation on Louisiana's Old River Road for a guided tour. During your tour of Destrehan Plantation, professional guides will bring to life the stories of generations who lived on and worked this land. Your guides will share every detail of this mansion’s storied history with you. You’ll also hear tales of the lives of both its owners and slaves. They will also tell you about its wonderfully restored Greek Revival architecture.

We had such a wonderful time. Isabelle was so accommodating to find a spot for us on a small tour. We went out on the airboat and then to a plantation. There were only 12 of us and it was perfect. Comfortable, air conditioned van. Our driver Rene was fabulous and so interesting to talk to and very kind. Isabelle is also lovely with top notch service. At this point in my life I can’t cram on a bus with 35 other people and take a hokey tour. It’s well worth the extra dollars to use a private, professional group. When we’re back in town we will 1000% use this company again.

Highly recommend! From start to finish, the itinerary and service provided by Tours by Isabelle, and Isabelle herself, was one of the best experiences ever. They were prompt in picking us up at our hotel in New Orleans and on the way to each stop on the tour, we were provided all sorts of history and fun facts about the area. The relationship this company has with the swamp tour company and those running the plantation tour was evident too, which was reassuring. The swamp tour was a blast, our guide and captain fun and knowledgeable. And I've never seen more passion for a project than I did from Ms. Ann who was our tour guide at the plantation. Both of these also deserve five stars! Isabelle at Tours by Isabelle is deeply connected to the area and her passion for what she does and the place she lives is evident in the knowledge she shared. You can't go wrong with this company!
