Isabelle is a great organizer before the day, ensuring you know where you need to be etc. Giselle my tour guide for the day was right on time for hotel pick up. The first stop was Destrehan Plantation, you are given a full house tour by a guide, and a mean full, it is perhaps a little too long, it left little time to explore the grounds and other exhibits. Next is Houmas House where they have been busy doing some updates since I was last here in 2018. The lunch was very nice, I can honestly say you will not walk away hungry at all, and yes save some room for the White Chocolate Bread Pudding, ensuring you get some sauce on top. Next was a little free time to explore the grounds before the house tour. They are currently setting up for Christmas, and they do go all out. Bethany led our house tour, she was a very knowledgeable guide and the house is filled with some old photographs of the home, along with a lot of artwork etc. They were even donated by Anne Rice an old Vampire Hunting Kit. After the house tour, we had a little time for the grounds and gift shop. Charlie (the bird) was not in his cage so I was a little disappointed in that, I remember him letting me pet his neck, get right in the space he can't get to, there is now a sign saying he bites, he never bit me. It is a long day with the drive to both Plantations and the lunch, but it would have been nice to have a little more time on the grounds as they are spectacular. Gisele was a wonderful driver, who allowed me to be her co pilot for the day. She was very knowledgeable on area and New Orleans History, as well as recommendations for Restaurants etc. I have done a few Tours with Isabelle including Whitney and St Joseph with Rene two days prior, which is also an excellent tour. If you are looking for a small group tour (we had a total of 5 people and Gisele) then this company and its tours are for you.

Loved the small group experience. Rene our guide was knowledgeable, personable and had a great sense of humor. Our group enjoyed both of the plantations , the guides and the grounds. Lunch at Houmas House was very good. We appreciated the efficiency and the way that the whole day was organized and we knew ahead of time what was going to happen. All in all , a very enjoyable day!
