Small-Group Malibu Wine Hike

Overview

The hike is a guided 2.5 mile loop around the property where you will get to walk through the vines, see amazing views, visit our Chumash Native American cave paintings, and explore our organic garden. The hike is considered easy to moderate with about 300 feet of elevation gain and loss. This tour is open for all ages, however due to the terrain we cannot allow strollers or wagons. At the end of the tour guests will receive wine to-go.

This hike is so fun, beautiful, with exotic animals to boot! I live in Malibu and found it informative, with magnificent Vistas and the wines are excellent. Shane our our guide was knowledgeable, funny and super cute.

After a long work week, the Malibu Wines Hike was the perfect opportunity to wind down. I've participated at many Malibu Wines events, and yesterday was my first time hiking with their group. It was even better than I expected! Our hiking lead, Marie, guided us around the scenic trails and hills of the breathtaking vineyard, where we frequently stopped for various photo opps at locations personally picked by the owners, and also had the opportunity to interact with the animals. Marie also pointed out a few movie and TV locations that were filmed on the property, plus we got to meet the beautiful and very graceful, white horse, Shadowfax who starred in the Lord of the Rings. Our hike included some adventure, too! We were able to climb and hang about in a 500-year-old tree, as well as the popular big yellow frame which presents a favorite view for the owners. After the hike, we were shuttled over to the tasting room, where a private table and a personal attendant were prepped and ready for our delightful flight of wine tasting. Our lead Marie was absolutely great! She was very personable, knowledgable, helpful, enthusiastic and seemed to be very passionate about her job and watching us enjoy the experience. I not only recommend this hike, but I'd do it again...and again..and again :)

I went on a private giraffe hike with a group of friends for my birthday and had an awesome time with our guide Kurt! He was very knowledgeable about the vineyard, the history, and all of the events coming up this summer. He also had an awesome sense of humor and lots of puns. Kurt also took a bunch of awesome photos for us so we had no shortage of pics for instagram. If you’re planning to visit Malibu Wines, you have to do a hike with Kurt!!
