Small-Group Malibu Wine Hike

Overview

The hike is a guided 2.5 mile loop around the property where you will get to walk through the vines, see amazing views, visit our Chumash Native American cave paintings, and explore our organic garden. The hike is considered easy to moderate with about 300 feet of elevation gain and loss. This tour is open for all ages, however due to the terrain we cannot allow strollers or wagons. At the end of the tour guests will receive wine to-go.

So I had one very particular request on my 2-day visit to Los Angeles, I NEEDED to go to the Malibu Wine Safari. My friends surprised me with tickets as an early birthday present and we made the drive to Malibu through scattered showers that we thought were bound to clear up. The tour guide we had booked for the day, Kurt, was checking in all morning just to make sure we still wanted to brave the storm - even sticking around through every other cancellation to meet the four crazy girls that wanted to hike through a downpour. Needless to say, the weather never cleared up....but Kurt stuck it out with us as we slipped and slid our way up and down the hills, cracking jokes to keep us smiling while we maneuvered the mud covered trails. We had such a fabulous time even in far less than ideal conditions. This is a trip that will be long remembered because of MWS and our fearless guide.

Thank you to Kurt for taking us on a perfect hike at Malibu Wines! We took a group of our special needs kids out to see Stanley the Giraffe and a number of other animals... Kurt was patient, made sure the kids had fun and overall was a great hike host. Thanks for making it such a great experience. What a gorgeous place!

This was a unique experience that combined our love of the outdoors with our love for wine tasting. We were looking for something fun to do with our newly 21 year old daughter- who doesn't really care for wine but she LOVES giraffes. We all left happy. My only complaint was that the wine tasting at Malibu wines felt like an afterthought. Our group was crowded onto an out of the way table and were given very little attention from the server pouring the wine (not the same person as our hiking guide- who was excellent!). It would be better just to drop us off and give us tasting coupons and let us get them on our own and be able to relax at the venue. I definitely recommend this if you're looking for something unique to do in the LA area.
