Small-Group Malibu Wine Hike

Overview
The hike is a guided 2.5 mile loop around the property where you will get to walk through the vines, see amazing views, visit our Chumash Native American cave paintings, and explore our organic garden. The hike is considered easy to moderate with about 300 feet of elevation gain and loss. This tour is open for all ages, however due to the terrain we cannot allow strollers or wagons. At the end of the tour guests will receive a 375 ML bottle of wine to-go.

My friends and I travelled from Michigan and only were only in Malibu for the day. The Malibu wine hike company did not communicate with us at all for the hike. They informed us it was an easy walk, just closed toe shoes. However it was definitely a hike, going up hill and getting how and sweaty. We showed up dressed very unprepared and were unable to be refunded. They offered a gift card, however we live in Michigan so it will go to waste. Very disappointing.

We did the Giraffe hike (recommend being on foot rather than in the safari truck) and it was absolutely fantastic--so much fun, such a bonding experience for everyone and this family-run business is executed with such incredible care and forethought. I can't say enough about our morning spent at Malibu Wine Safaris.

Pros: The animals are very cute and the location is beautiful. The guide was friendly and helpful. Cons: 1) We went on a day that was 113 degrees (July 6th at 2 pm) and the groups that could reschedule could, but there was not an option to do so the day of. 2) The people like myself (who paid, mind you) that had to be driven back after a mile because we were unable to keep going were not given any wine to taste, we were just helped to our car and able to leave - no tasting. We paid $130 to hike in Malibu (we bought tickets, a souvenir hat, and a souvenir canteen) and just because it was not the safari, we did not even get any wine when we headed back early. Absolutely disappointed. Why did we have to finish the hike to do the tasting in 113 degree heat? Skip this place unless it is winter, there is not enough prepared protocol to deal with the heat.

Hey we are very sorry to hear you had this experience. There must have been a miscommunication after you were driven back from the hike. We are always happy to offer the wine tastings you have paid for and apologize if that was not made clear when you were driven back to the parking lot. If you are interested in receiving your wine tastings or rescheduling due to the extreme heat please email us back and we would be happy to accommodate. Cheers! Malibu Wine Hikes
