Discover Austin‘s most historic and little known pubs nestled in the heart of downtown! Loaded with hidden history and haunted tales, this tour is a MUST for those who enjoy history and a drink off the beaten path! Stops include historic brothels, the haunted Speakeasy, the iconic Driskill bar, and the secret tavern doors in the FireHouse Hostel. Approximately 3 hrs. Food and Drinks encouraged but NOT included.

The Driskill

Enjoy a stroll through the lobby of the historic and haunted Driskill Hotel! This unparalleled Austin landmark was built in 1885, opening Christmas Eve 1886. During this 15 minute stop, you will learn the bittersweet story of the founder, Jesse Driskill, and how his iconic hotel fits into the tapestry of Austin’s past…and present. And of course, no trip to the Driskill would be complete without a ghost story or two…:)

Congress Avenue

Our tour strolls the historic sidewalks and pubs of Congress Avenue. Easily the most recognized Street in Texas, Congress Avenue has amazing stories to share. Telling them over a good drink, even better!

6th Street

The last stretch of our pin walk is down Austin‘s world famous 6th Street! Experience the fun and energy of “dirty sixth” as we seek out one of Austin‘s excellent live music pubs.

Wonderful experience! The bars had great character and each one had multiple stories. Our guide was well-prepared with an iPad loaded with historical photos of what the bars looked like in Wild West times. Starting early gave us a chance to see multiple bars before things got busy. It’s a 3-hour tour but the time flies by. Definitely recommended.
