This is the third wine tour my wife and I have been on through Viator, and all of them are great. This one might rank at the top (the others were in Tuscany and Champagne), just due to the fact that it is pretty difficult to find these wines in stores (if at all), and the actual quality of the wines were fantastic. I have been living in LA for the past 18 months, and have been to Santa Barbara a couple of times. The wines are just OK, and everyone focuses on the Pinot Noirs. This tour took us through the whole gamut of Santa Barbara County, from the west end Pinots, the Granache and Syrah's of mid-Valley, and the heavy Cabs on the far east end in Happy Canyon. The driver was great (Scott), and there was snacks of some kind at every stop (cheese, crackers, olives, nuts at one stop, and chocolates at another, with lunch in between). Getting to talk to the wine makers, owners, and workers at such exclusive wineries (no true "tasting rooms') was great. My roommate from college went with us, and they also thought the tour was top notch, even though it was the 3rd time he had been to SBC for wine tasting. I can't say enough good things about Sustainable Wine Tours.

I booked a tour through Sustainable Wine Tours with my wife and my college roommate. While I have been on many wine tours in California, Europe and South America, this rates among the best just based on the exclusiveness and quality of wines tasted. The three wineries we visited were only for wine club members, and none of them produced more than 5,000 cases per year. While Santa Barbara is a much newer wine region, these producers were making much higher quality wines than I had tasted in previous trips to Santa Barbara. The tour guide, Scott, was really great and set up meetings with the owners, winemakers, and small staff that were on hand to walk us through their philosophy and answer any questions the group had. If you are looking for a great wine tour, look no further than Sustainable Wine Tours.

My wife and I went on a small group tour and had a blast. We were able to access 3 levels of small & exclusive wineries. From wine tours of the production facilities, to private estate tasting rooms, to meeting the winemaker's themselves. What a treat to spend the day being educated, tasting great wines & library wines, making new friends, in traveling a very comfortable vehicle (mercedes van). Thanks to Scott and Sustainable Wine Tours for the great day! This definitely was the highlight of our trip to California!
