Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

The tour guide picked us up at our inn about 10:30 and brought us back about 6:00. There were five other couples on the tour. We went to four wineries and sampled plenty of wine. It was fun getting to know everyone on the tour. Andy, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the various types of wine. He made a delicious picnic lunch for us and we ate it at one of the wineries. Each winery had something unique about it which made it even more interesting for us. It was a great way to see the smaller, quaint wineries and we had a perfect day. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Andy!

We had the nicest time with Rob, who crafted a lovely lunch and snacks for us and who shuttled us around to 4 lovely wineries in the Valley! We appreciated seeing all levels of wine-crafting - each with their own special touch and style! We also enjoyed the diverse and worldly group who shared out trip...Japan, Germany, Italy, Sweden, England, New York (and then a couple of Midwesterner's!).... Thank you Platypus Wine Tours! We truly enjoyed our time with you and with the selected wineries that we visited!!

We had three other couples and it was the perfect size to visit four unknown wineries! Our tour guide Bob was outstanding and super helpful. This is in relation to another review...plan wisely to bring back wine! Another reviewer below paid high $$$$ to mail back BUT our tour guide Bob advised us that we can buy a 12-case shipping box from him ($10 - other wineries offered same price also) and to check as luggage! My husband carried on his bag (forget that for us women vacationing) so it only costed us $25 by the airline as a checked baggage (United). We got our box and no damage to any bottles! It was perfect. We wanted to bring back wines not on market...thanks Bob!
