Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Napa Valley

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

For our first trip to Napa, we decided to take a Platypus Wine Tour so we could experience as many wineries in one day as we could. This was an awesome tour and our tour guide Roxanna did a fantastic job of entertaining us and sharing information about the region. I highly recomend both Roxanna and Platypus Tours to anyone looking to enjoy a day touring some wineries.

We caught the San Francisco to Vallejo Ferry and were picked up at the Ferry Terminal by Platypus Tours. We enjoyed a relaxing day. Our tour guide Mark was friendly, tried to cracked a few jokes but gave up early, a bit challenging with an nternational group, (Australia, Taiwan, Canada, U.K. and Florida). It did not matter, the small group all were friendly and fun conversation carried on all day. We visited 3 wineries including Etude, Kieu Huong, Razi plus a Wine coop where the wine attendant had a great sense of humour. Multiple wineries were sampled at the Coop. The winery staff were friendly and happy to engage with us and passionate about their offerings. Lunch was provided as part of the tour price, light sandwiches and salad, fresh food and plentiful. Each location had lovely surroundings and we were given a short tour of each winery. Whilst it was made clear in the booking brochure, the cost of each tasting added up, probably twice the cost of ground transport overall and the budget for the day also included the Ferry across from San Francisco. Overall, would recommend this tour.

My wife and I went on the Wine tasting tour through Napa Valley and had a wonderful time! The Platypus guide was a great host and was very knowledgeable! All the winerys were small, local and family owned businesses and were gracious hosts. Will always recommend to anyone traveling through this region!
