Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

The people who made our reservations were courteous and helpful. They responded quickly to all of our questions and requests. Our tour guide, Greg Frediani, was phenomenal. He picked us up at our VBRO on time, and with a great smile. He was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He was very patient will our eclectic group. He was a safe driver who got us to each winery on time for our private tours. We had two private tours, Schramsberg and Jarvis, plus a great tasting at Elhers. Greg asked ahead of time about the music our group would like that day, and he had the perfect playlist for our day. We enjoyed singing and watching the beautiful scenery as he drove us through the lovely Napa Valley. He suggested a wonderful picnic lunch site, and we thoroughly enjoyed our box lunches also provided by Platypus. The cheese and crackers on the bus was a nice touch as well. We had a conversation on the way home about restaurants to celebrate a 60th birthday. He knew the best places to go. As we kept talking, we realized we wanted to stay home. He took us to a wonderful market, and we were able to get everything we needed for a nice relaxing dinner at home. This is not a stuffy, uncomfortable experience. We were very relaxed and able to be our fun selves. This was a nice relaxing way to take a larger group (we had 8 people) in a comfortable perimeter seating style passenger tour shuttle. Most limo companies could not accommodate our group, and trying to get into and out of an SUV, Van, or Limo would have been very difficult for us. We are older, and wider than many, and it was easy on and off transportation. We highly recommend this great company. Platypus tours, Greg, you rock!

Roxanna was a fantastic tour guide and we had a great time. She took us to 4 small wineries that we never would have found on our own. The picnic lunch on the grounds of one of the wineries was just perfect. We recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more of the wine country, enjoy meeting new people and all while enjoying some great wine

Roxanne took us to 4 great, contrasting wineries with a nice range of wine. Knowledgable tours through each set a level of context that helped us appreciate the story behind each winery.
