The tour was blah. I wish it were structured better to include more hiking time. That would mean imposing physical fitness limits on the guests or offering two different tours for different levels of fitness. I wanted a lot more hiking. I didn't realize how little of it would be included in the Yosemite National Park tour!!! Jumping in and out of the van for photo opportunities was the bulk of the tour. I feel cheated out of the proper experience of the park, and I am disappointed. The time spent standing around, gazing at climbers at the bottom of the mountain should have been added to the hike. We just hopped around three or for points in the park like grasshoppers on cocaine. This park warrants a very different experience, the kind I didn't get. Our guide Brian was a super nice, extremely accommodating, and upbeat individual, but the narration was bland, lackluster, milquetoast. I understand that the tour is 14 hours long, and no wordsmith would want this job, but I was bored out of my mind with the narration. Again, this is not about Brian personally whom I found to be an excellent, hardworking human. Sleeping in the van was impossible due to the high volume of the videos playing for our entertainment. With a pick up time of 5am, allowing people to sleep seems like the right thing to do.

The things that you are citing in your review are things that most people love about our tour. We make more stops in the park than any other of our competitors. We take a trip to the giant sequoias (and 90 minute hike). We provide 90 minutes the free time for small hikes. We give much information on the way up and back with videos, music and commentary. We bring our telescope so we can see climbers on El Capitan. There are other Yosemite tours that are for more athletic passengers but none of those types of tours go up for one day. 99.9% of our customers do not want a taxi service that drop you off on the valley for six hours to hike, and return in silence They want the maximum photo stops, entertaining commentary, and the most they can experience in the park in one day.

Brian our host was energetic and knowledgable. We had some time to wander near Yosemite Lodge and enjoy the breathtaking views. And he made sure we saw all the main spots and photo ops. While the walk to the sequoia grove is steep its is worth the chance to see these beauties up close.

Don Don Don!! I can't say enough good things about the driver and tour guide Don. If you have the time to take this day trip to Yosemite, I highly recommend this experience. 10/10 on every aspect of this tour. From logistics on hotel pick up, to small details and background information on the sights and places around Yosemite, Don provided an A+ experience. He is an expert in the towns you drive through, types of rock, stone, and trees, and even offered great recommendations for San Francisco. Whether you are traveling alone, with a partner, or with your family, this day trip to Yosemite is worthwhile. Amazing views with minimal walking.
