Get out from behind the windshield, slow down and experience wine country from a whole new perspective - by bike! You'll join a small group, hosted by a knowledgeable, local tour guide who will enhance your education of the vine-to-bottle process. Guided groups ride at a relaxed pace, averaging just 3 to 5 miles of pedaling between winery visits. Our guide, Paul, was very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable! He made sure my friend and I knew how to ride the bicycles and shift gears (we are clearly no expert bike riders!), and then we set off on a ride to two different wineries! Paul told stories about Sonoma and the area as we rode, and knew all about the wineries we went to as well, and told us some of their history. In addition, when we purchased some wine, he quickly called the office so that a staff member would come pick up the wine for us, and it was waiting when we arrived back at the office! A truly great experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like to experience Sonoma and winery touring in a bit of a different way :)

We elected to have a half-day tour when we visited Sonoma couple of weeks ago. We arrived at around 9:20am and were greeted in the shop by the proprietor and a guide. The bikes are comfortable to ride on the very poor local roads and they provide helmets if you don't have yours. So there was another couple with us and during the "tour" we visited 2 wineries where we paid for tastings and that was pretty much it. After we finished at the second place we drove back on our own since our guide continued with the other couple. They could have called a van to pick us up, but unless it rains or scorching hot it's not a big deal to ride back for about 20 minutes. Bottom line, It didn't worth 250$. One may rent the very same bike for about 25-30$ per day, download the map of the wineries and drive on their own. The guys at the store were very nice, but I think it's extremely overpriced.

I'm so sorry to hear you didn't feel our Half-Day Bike Tour was a great value. We do offer a variety of options at different price points with the goal of helping our guests find the best fit - both value and experience-wise for their needs. Our guided tours tend to appeal to travelers who enjoy the social aspect of joining a small group and being hosted by a local Tour Guide while not having to worry about planning the route and winery visits - and the additional benefit of dedicated van support (for wine purchase pickups, etc.). But our team is equally enthused about serving our bike rental guests who are happy to rent a bike ($39 per day for our most popular casual hybrid) and get some candid advice from our staff before heading out on their own self-guided adventure for the day. It definitely sounds like you would have been great candidates for renting bikes with us. I'm sorry we somehow missed the opportunity to steer you to the best experience. Kellie M.

Two weeks ago we biked through Sonoma suburbs and visited two wineries with this company. My husband and I frequently take a bike tour in the cities we visit around the world. This one was not the best but with easy changes it could be much better.
The positives: easy biking on paved bike paths or back roads 2 wineries were very good good bikes van available if needed and will pick up wine purchases
The negatives: arrival time was 9 but we did not start until 10:30 consequently we had to leave the tour early by van to meet our next commitment so we missed out we waited for late arrivals Ryan, the tour guide was pleasant but only gave us the directions--no group introductions no history of Sonoma, no history of wine making in the area, etc no map of our tour.
We like and are willing to pay for a bike 'tour' for the above reasons rather than bike on our own! This bike tour one did not measure up!
