Scottsdale’s 2020-2021 #1 ranked TripAdvisor outdoor activity. Our rigorous Sunset Desert Jeep Tour is a bumpy off-road sightseeing tour through the scenic Jeep trails of the Tonto National Forest, north of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Experience a world-famous Arizona sunset (weather dependent) as our professional tour guides teach you about the Sonoran desert flora, fauna, and Native American history. At sunset, we will stop at our panoramic lookout point overseeing the historic Great Western Trail.

This is a public tour (not private). Public tour vehicles: Modified open-air vertical-row (sideways) seating Jeep Gladiator (14 seats) and Jeep YJ (7 seats).

Total duration of this tour ranges from 2 to 3 hours depending on the time of year. Confirm the exact end time with your tour guide before the tour.

Off-Road Jeep Adventures is a special recreation permit-holder through the U.S. Department of Agriculture: Cave Creek Ranger District.

There is an individual weight limit of 275 lbs

Tonto National Forest

Our permitted Tonto National Forest trails are connected to North Scottsdale, Arizona. The trailhead is located 15 minutes northeast of our operations office.

Pinnacle Peak Park

Pinnacle Peak is a scenic 3,169 foot granite summit located in North Scottsdale, Arizona

This was the highlight of our trip. We had a group of 6 and Tom was our guide. Tom not only was so funny and accommodating, but also made sure to teach us a lot about the areas and plants we were seeing. I could not recommend this activity more and the views were amazing!

This tour was all around incredible! I went with my sister (we are both in our mid 20's) and had an absolute blast. To start, our tour guide Amanda Sue was so amazing! She flawlessly and skillfully drove through some VERY difficult terrain all while knowledgeably discussing the different plants and animals we saw during the tour. She was very funny and quick witted as well, making for an all around fun experience. She even told us some interesting urban legends which is always fun to hear. The tour itself was also incredible. GO AT SUNSET! The views were absolutely breathtaking. We saw so many different kinds of cacti, not too many animals, but that's par for the course. Best part? At sunset, Amanda Sue took us to a great lookout where we could get out of the Jeep and take some really nice pictures. She even gave us White Claws! Nothing better than watching an Arizona sunset overlooking beautiful terrain with a Claw. Would highly recommend this tour!
