Scottsdale’s 2020-2021 #1 ranked TripAdvisor outdoor activity. Our rigorous Sunset Desert Jeep Tour is a bumpy off-road sightseeing tour through the scenic Jeep trails of the Tonto National Forest, north of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Experience a world-famous Arizona sunset (weather dependent) as our professional tour guides teach you about the Sonoran desert flora, fauna, and Native American history. At sunset, we will stop at our panoramic lookout point overseeing the historic Great Western Trail.

This is a public tour (not private). Public tour vehicles: Modified open-air vertical-row (sideways) seating Jeep Gladiator (14 seats) and Jeep YJ (7 seats).

Total duration of this tour ranges from 2 to 3 hours depending on the time of year. Confirm the exact end time with your tour guide before the tour.

Off-Road Jeep Adventures is a special recreation permit-holder through the U.S. Department of Agriculture: Cave Creek Ranger District.

There is an individual weight limit of 275 lbs

Tonto National Forest

Our permitted Tonto National Forest trails are connected to North Scottsdale, Arizona. The trailhead is located 15 minutes northeast of our operations office.

Pinnacle Peak Park

Pinnacle Peak is a scenic 3,169 foot granite summit located in North Scottsdale, Arizona

We took the sunset tour tonight and would highly recommend to others considering booking. John was our guide. Everything was very professionally run and we were out for almost three hours. It was a beautiful evening In the dessert. You’re in great hands with a knowledgeable and pleasant staff. The trip definitely exceeded our expectations.

This tour was absolutely perfect. Pat was the most amazing guide (and driver) and teller of dad jokes I have ever experienced. I have traveled the world through my years and don’t multitudes of excursions and private tours and Pat had by far exceeded all guides and your leaders I have experienced. His knowledge of the desert, botany, history of the Native American tribes and the geography was mind blowing. Pat kept us on our toes and laughing the whole time. Our pictures were incredible, we even joked that he must’ve taken photography classes to get such great timed shots. I would do this tour again just to hang with Pat for another 3 hours!

We had Pat as our tour guide and he was fantastic! He was super friendly, had some humor, very informative and always asking if we needed anything or if he wanted to take our picture for us. He has so much knowledge of the Sonoran Desert. We enjoyed this tour so much and the sunset was amazing. I highly recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed.
