Scottsdale’s 2020-2021 #1 ranked TripAdvisor outdoor activity. Our rigorous Sunset Desert Jeep Tour is a bumpy off-road sightseeing tour through the scenic Jeep trails of the Tonto National Forest, north of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Experience a world-famous Arizona sunset (weather dependent) as our professional tour guides teach you about the Sonoran desert flora, fauna, and Native American history. At sunset, we will stop at our panoramic lookout point overseeing the historic Great Western Trail.

This is a public tour (not private). Public tour vehicles: Modified open-air vertical-row (sideways) seating Jeep Gladiator (14 seats) and Jeep YJ (7 seats).

Total duration of this tour ranges from 2 to 3 hours depending on the time of year. Confirm the exact end time with your tour guide before the tour.

Off-Road Jeep Adventures is a special recreation permit-holder through the U.S. Department of Agriculture: Cave Creek Ranger District.

There is an individual weight limit of 275 lbs

Our bumpy off-road Jeep tours are low-speed, jarring rides through rough terrain. Please ensure that every guest in your party understands that this off-road tour is a low-speed, bumpy ride through rough terrain.

Tonto National Forest

Our permitted Tonto National Forest trails are connected to North Scottsdale, Arizona. The trailhead is located 15 minutes northeast of our operations office.

Pinnacle Peak Park

Pinnacle Peak is a scenic 3,169 foot granite summit located in North Scottsdale, Arizona

We did the Sunset Jeep tour the second weekend in May, not too terribly hott yet. Our tour guide, Trevis, was definitely the highlight of this experience. If you plan on doing a tour, ask for Trevis! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the desert it made the jeep tour extra special. We came with a group of 11 girls for a bachelorette party, I highly recommend the 14 person rider to all be together if traveling in a large group! I really didn't know what to expect for the tour, never being to Arizona and coming all the way from Michigan. But from day one, with everyone I talked to at the office trying to plan the trip-to the day of the actual tour, with a driver to pick us up at our Airbnb and drop us off after, I give Off-Road jeep adventures a 5/5. The sunset tour was exceptionally beautiful!!

Trevis was an amazing guide!!! It was a very informative and peaceful adventure. Trevis’ clearly loves his job, and was very knowledgable about the flora and fauna of the Sonoran desert. My highlight was watching the sunset as a group. I would highly recommend this tour to others, and having Trevis as the guide would be a must-have. By the end of the tour, I felt very at happy and at-peace

Our tour guide Cam was awesome! She was very knowledgeable about the Tonto National Forest and Arizona in general. The off-roading experience was so much fun and the sunset was breathtaking!My fiancé and I highly recommend Off Road Jeep Adventures for anyone looking for a fun activity in Arizona. Be sure to ask for Cam!
