What To Expect
1
Coloma
This whitewater adventure begins in the heart of the Coloma Lotus Valley in the foothills town of Coloma. Coloma is at the center of the California Gold Rush and one of California’s most historical areas. In 1848 James Marshal discovered Gold in the South Fork of the American River streambed. That discovery changed the world attracting over 300,000 people to California in the following years. Much of the history and creation of California as a state can be traced back to that single discovery of gold in Coloma Ca.
2
Lotus
Much of the South Fork American River flows through the Coloma Lotus Valley and eventually leads into the Sacramento Valley. The river cuts through gorgeous California landscapes.
3
Folsom Lake State Recreation Area
The South Fork American River river flows into and ends in Folsom Reservoir. During certain times of the year, the reservoir is high enough that it backs up into the river a mile or so. When the lake level is high our rafts need to be towed out this last portion with help from a jetski.

This was our first rafting trip and I can't say enough awesome things about the trip we had or the rafting company. We are a family of 5 ages 50,46,17,13,12. We all agree the trip with Tahoe Whitwater couldn't have been better. We went with Milty, Nate and Samir. The three couldn't have been easy going, friendly, professional and experienced. Our boat guide was Samir. He was awesome. He was patient, explained every rapid clearly, was great at navigating into the best waves. He was conscientious about safety and made sure we were still having a blast. He was knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the river and had a thoughtful answer for our many questions. Nate and Milty were great as well. Welcoming and fun. The lunch they prepared was fresh and delicious and they were just great people to spend the day with. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone considering heading out on the water. My youngest son asked on our way home from the trip if we could do it again the next day.. I'd say he was pretty thrilled with the day.

First time rafting, and couldn't have had more fun or felt more secure on white water! Fantastic lunch spread, lots of cool stories, and jumps off of rocks into river pools! Hope to do it again!!!

They had a great spread of food for the included lunch. They were well prepared and clean. The guides were well trained and knew a lot about what was coming and the surrounding area. They knew how to keep us safe and still have a great time!
