My family of four (2 adults, 2 kids ages 11 and 13) did the half-day sunset tour and it was one of the most fun and intense activities of our 2 weeks in Utah. We had never ridden ATVs before, and although we love being outdoors, we tend towards quieter activities like hiking and biking. Our guide Paul was ready for us with all the gear we needed - helmets, close-fitting sunglasses, and light-colored neck gaiters to keep the sand out of our mouths - and we set off right at 5pm after some basic instruction on the machines. (Also, we hadn't booked a private tour, but no one else was signed up so it was just us.) The two adults drove, with a kid on the back of each ATV. We stopped periodically for photos, ATV-driving tips, and exploration of Sand Hollow's many amazing features. We learned how to ride up giant (by our standards) sand dunes, ride circles in bowls, and accelerate through the corners on rutted windy trails. Paul was not only knowledgeable and a skilled teacher for us novices, but it turns out he's a former professional photographer and he took the best photos of our 2-week vacation just using our phones! I highly recommend the sunset tour because it's such a gorgeous time in the desert! As a side note, when I got stuck in my rental car in a rutted parking lot a few days later, I put Paul's tips to use and managed to navigate out of it!

Thank you for the wonderful compliments! Our guides are simply the best around and they all just love showing our guests a bit of their backyard. We are proud to say that that is a reason we have been number #1 and continue to be THE #1 tour company in Southern Utah. Not only is safety our main concern but we also take into consideration each and every guest needs! We get to share Sand Mountain with all of our guests, and we love it. There is over 16,000 acres of amazing Bureau of Land Management land with over 6,000 acres of "living" sand dunes that we get to utilize. The views from the top of the mountain are nothing short of spectacular! You might even get the opportunity to see 3 states at one time as well as view of Zion National Park, Warner Valley, Pine Valley mountains and the entire St. George valley.
