How on earth did they get to the moon? I can only think it’s because it’s straight up and no signs required! I visited from the south travelling by car on the 45 and found not a single sign where to turn off. Having passed my exit I took another one and drove clockwise around the site only seeing one small sign on route. Inside was no better with nothing pointing you to the tram ride booking point or that there are in fact two options. You book your tour with a man on your right, just past the customer services desk, tucked up against a wall. One tour includes the Apollo rocket viewing the other just Mission Control so if you haven’t been to the well organised space Center at Cape Kenedy then make sure you see it here. Apart from the lack of organisation and signage, the displays are very good, with lots of experimental information displayed. Overall a great day once you find what you have available to see.

The JSC is a great place to visit. The historical information is enlightening. Not everyone knows the back story on flights. The place is good for children and adults alike. The staff is well trained and know howto advise all who visit.

So we went because my husband really wanted to see the 747 with the space shuttle on top and how they managed to get this off the ground. That was worth the entrance fee. If you are going. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you download the space center app on your phone and look it over. I feel like we missed so much because they don’t have a printed map. They are encouraging folks to go green. But the app is not user friendly especially when you are trying to figure it all out while you are there. The teams are really confusing. The staff is not the least big excited about where they are and what they represent. They are just there to shuffle people around. It would be great to have people working there that get excited about this stuff. It felt more like an amusement park than someplace of significant history that has changed our work forever. The help desk had an older lady who was very friendly. It knew absolutely nothing about the app or the museum. If you are becoming younger kids, they will love it. Lots of buttons to push and flashing lights. But I’m not sure they would get much out of it unless their parents prepare themselves. Some children were clearly inspired and that was way cool.
