Monorail gets you to the mall in a heartbeat... we rode it just for the site seeing tour. Glass Garden is the best part of the trip.

This is a truly amazing place. The glass sculptures and installations are on such a massive scale it is unbelievable. The Persian ceiling in the green house is truly beautiful with its vibrant oranges and yellows. My favorite place was the outside gardens though. Just the variety of plants was spectacular in itself but the addition of the glass sculptures made this garden very special. I wish I could give this more than a rating of 5 out of 5. Pike Place Market, not far from the Space Needle, is a huge, a great place for fresh seafood, flowers, bread, and many ethnic foods. There are a lot of craft vendors here as well. It is really crowded on the weekends so I would suggest you plan your trip other than on a Saturday or Sunday. A fun farmer’s market. Don’t let the scale of the place intimidate you.

We were in Seattle twice waiting on a cruise and just sightseeing from Oregon. Kind of preparing where to stay when returning from the Princess Alaskan Cruise. Stopped by the Needle and decided to take the Grandkids up on the adventure. They loved it and we were thrilled. The renovations didn’t cramp our stay it was just the ceiling. The plexiglass floors were intense and the kids had pictures take while laying down seeing the depth of everything below. Beers and food was expensive but once is enough for this experience unless you have new friends or family to share it with. Parking across the street was a minimum charge and very convenient. We finally stayed at the Marriott Waterfront and loved it. It was not close to our princess pier but Enterprise was great dropping off/picking us up at pier 91. Enterprise is Four blocks from Marriot so made it very convenient. If you keep your rental at Marriot it’s expensive to park so make one day rentals and return it to Enterprise. Pikes place is very entertaining and restaurants are plentiful. Marriott is across the street from two cruise terminals and people were storing there luggage to sightsee while waiting for their rooms. Pricing is expensive for rooms but worth the extra 100/150 for location. They know when the ships are docking so the pricing is expensive. Other hotels were too far and not convenient to the waterfront. It was fun and the Alaskan cruise was fantastic. Train ride was great and spend the extra money for the VIP car it’s well worth it. Salmon spawning is an all Day experience at one of the ports.
