We visited the Space Needle as a must see activity for our vacation and it did not disappoint! We booked our tickets online and scheduled our visit as the Needle opened at 10am. We were first in the line and got courteously directed to the elevator. A short 40 seconds later we were on the top observation deck 600+ feet above Seattle with a magnificent 360 degree view of the city and surrounding area including Puget Sound. You could stay indoors or go to the outdoor deck - we did both. We also went to the lower observation deck which rotates gently for a full view of the city. There was also considerable information about the construction of the needle for the 1962 World's Fair which was good reading. The Space Needle is a must see activity for any Seattle tourist - we recommend that you enjoy it if you do visit.

Totally worth every penny!! The Space Needle, built for the 1962 World's Fair is an amazing structure! The history of the construction is documented on panels you read on your way to the elevators - very interesting!! The views are spectacular (the day we ere there it was hazy from the wildfires, but you could still see amazing sights!!) After circumnavigating the observation deck, you walk down to the lower level, where there is a glass floor!!! If you get freaked out, there's plenty of solid flooring!!! After exiting the Space Needle, we walked over to the Chihuly. All I can say is SPECTACULAR!! I had seen some of his works in Dallas several years ago, but this permanent exhibit put that to shame!! I highly recommend this, and make sure you sit through the little movies in the theater (do them first, if you can!!) They explain some of the processes and construction, which makes the exhibit even more amazing!!
