First visit to the Space Needle in many years. Tickets are timed and there is a little wait for the elevator but once at the top the crowd spreads out and it was easy getting around. The view was fantastic on a clear, fall day. For those not afraid of heights, there are clear benches that are tipped outward against the angled glass. I am not afraid of heights but it was a wee bit scary to lean back on the glass without my feet touching the floor! Downstairs they have a glass floor you can walk on and look down at the crowd below. Chihuly Garden and Glass next door was beautiful! It was closing early for an event so we did not get to see it at night which we have been told is an awesome experience! Both places are well worth the price tag. There are other observation decks in Seattle that are priced less but loved the history and experience here.

While the Seattle Space Needle is iconic, the Chihuly Glass Exhibit is noteworthy. Visit Chihuly first so you can gauge time for a "timed entry" to Space Needle. We had seen Chihuly Glass exhibits before in the Finger Lakes and at Makers Mark distillery, but this exhibit is over the top. Fascinating shapes & colors, and some monstrous sized pieces. The Space Needle does affair some great views of Seattle and Mt Rainier BUT, be advised, even if you have purchased a "timed entry" ticket, you will wait in line. It took us almost 90 minutes to actually get up the Needle after we got on line. Plan your time accordingly. Once on top, it is VERY crowded with people of all sorts so lower your expectations so you can actually enjoy your experience. Nevertheless, it is worth the experience. Mark from Cincinnati

View is fantastic and the glass floor was great. The only problem is the huge crowds. This is something you don't want to miss in Seattle.
