We arrived early in the day and neat the crowds. We took the elevator to the top of the space needle first. What an amazing view. Also walked down to the rotating floor.. another amazing view. Once we finished there we walked next door to the Chihuly gardens. This was our first visit and it was spectacular. What an awesome artist. His creations are just inspiring.

Had to go see the newly remolded Space Needle. Did not disappoint, the 2 levels are fun. They have picture booths throughout so got some great photographs. the glass floors are fantastic! Even had a small snack while there which was good. Will be happy when the restaurant re-opens. Chihuly was fun to see once, don't know that I would go back.

We bought the City Pass, which included admission fees to these two places. We went on the last week of July, during tourist season. There was a crowd. However, we came here after visiting the Museum of Pop Culture and started at the Chihuly Garden around 3pm and went up the Space Needle after dinner. This is a good plan, as the Pop Culture museum is in-door and Chihuly is mostly in-door, thus avoid most of the summer heat and glare up in the Space Needle. The Chihuly Garden is a museum displaying beautiful glass art work. It's not really a garden with vegetation. You can breeze through this place in 30 minutes, if you're not into art works, but I advise you to take it easy and your time studying these beautiful sculptures and enjoy the air condition. Don't forget the take the photos of inside the greenhouse looking up the ceiling with Space Needle insight. It's a great composition. We started to line up to the Space Needle around 6pm, which is great - much short line than we saw around 3pm. It only took us ~20 minutes in line to get to the top. If you have a city pass book, you don't have to line up in the main line but straight to the agent! The ride up the elevator was very cool. Make sure you let our kids enter last, so they can be in front the elevator door to get a great view. The view is amazing up there, and the glass revolving floor is cool. There is a lounge up there; you can spent more time eating and enjoying the view. These two are must-visits in Seattle.
