The Space Needle was fun if you don't mind heights and glass floors. The Chihuly Garden is amazing, however, and definitely worth the time and money. The size of the installations and the colors remind me of giant coral reefs. Pictures do not begin to capture the sculptures and their beauty. The exhibit was more impressive to my teenagers than the needle, which says a lot! Both are great fun and fortunately located next to each other which made it very convenient for us.

Got our tickets the day before online. We knew it was going to be busy as it was a July 4th weekend. Got our tickets for 10am as the place does get busy between noon and 9pm. When we got there the next morning, there was no line at all. We walked in, had our complimentary picture taken then took the elevators all the way up. The last time we were at the summit, there were metal slats that obstructed views of the city. Those have been replaced by floor to ceiling glass panels that now provide unobstructed sight lines from a renovation completed a year ago. In addition, the revolving restaurant expanded its glass floors that now function as an observation deck. Be sure not to miss this as many do. These are very nice upgrades and provide a richer experience all around. On the way out, we visited the gift shop. It had some nice souvenirs.

I did visit on a Saturday so, that might have had something to do with how long we had to wait. From the time when we bought our tickets to the time when wd. Ould stand in the line it was already a two hour wait. We took advantage of the time and went into the pop museum which is next door and still had time to go into the Chihuly gardens. Luckily our ticket allowed us to cut the line since taht is what you can do if you bought tickets for both the needle and the gardens otherwise, that line was ridiculous. So, our time was up and we got to stand in line..... from the moment we first got in line to the moment we reached the elevators..... a whole hour!!!!! The view is nice, its pretty cool that the outer part rotates and I probably would've had a beer or two at their bar if it hadn't been 3 hours since I first got there... I do recommend but, buy tickets online and probably try to go during the week or early enough to avoid the wait.
