My girlfriend and I have done this twice already and we love it. We're actually getting ready to book our third. It's a genuinely fun experience, and the tour guide was super chill. Be sure to take sunglasses or the salt spray will make it pretty difficult to keep your eyes open! I've took some friends with me and they loved it as well. Highly recommend!

The guy gaslit me the whole time and made me feel incompetent and like I was wasting his time. In the description of the tour it says inexperience is fine. However when me and my friend got there he barely went over the instructions. He rushed explaining anything. He was very brash and adamant about the dangers of driving a speedboat. This is understandable. But not if you're being gaslit to feel incompetent. Not only did he make me feel unsafe to even drive the boat but he also made me feel like a bother because my learning would "ruin" the only other couple's tour. The last time I checked I paid for the tour also. So I believe that comment was completely out of line for him to even say. On top of the fact that the only other couple the male driver seem pretty familiar with driving a boat. Unlike me and my friend who also has never driven a boat before. If the guy wanted to make his customers feel intimidated and bothersome then there really should be a extra window of time alotted if he's in such a rush to go over instructions properly. He could require them to show up 10 or 15 minutes early instead of advertising that inexperience is fine. And I really don't think that that was an issue. My friend ended up driving the boat and she did wonderful. I have no doubt I would have done great myself. But he intimidated me and I think there was a level of racism there I was the only person of color there. There was a waiver that needed to be signed. This was the start of his shortness with me. He was already unnerving. I had just got a new phone and all that information automatically fills in with Google assist. So that waiver got sent to my original phone number. It only took me less than 5 minutes to fill out the waiver when we got there but he was so disrespectful even and asking me do you even know your phone number (mind you he was still busy setting up the boat stuff)? It was the rudest thing and my friend even picked up on that. He was such in a rush with me and wanted to make me feel incompetent. I was going to back out of the tour all together. My friend who didn't even want to drive said she would drive. And while he was so adamant in knowing what I'm doing even when filling out a waiver, when it came to her he just said I could fill it out for her and I should use my own driver's license number. Seriously he said use my driver's license number. That seems questionable at the very least. I don't believe that was proper protocol at all. After the tour was over he had the gall to ask for a tip. As if he didn't know he gaslit me the entire time. The one positive is my friend got to drive a speedboat for the first time since she's never driven a boat before. So I was happy for her.

Really great time, being out on the water was amazing! Definitely worth it! That said, the guide wasn’t very personable, and seemed to have canned answers for everything, not at all interested in peoples experience rather treating everyone like a complete novice. But we were in our own boat so didn’t matter during the trip! Go drive one of these boats though!
