For the entirety of this narrated tour, you’ll navigate and captain your own speedboat while following a trained and knowledgeable guide in a different boat. There is a two-way communication system mounted in each boat, so you'll be able to hear your guide throughout the tour. My husband and I recently went to visit Tampa, Florida and purchased this excursion prior to arriving. Unfortunately, we missed our scheduled time by one minute due to a five car pile-up on the highway, which resulted in us being left at the dock. We arrived at 1:01 pm and the tour started at 1:00 pm. There were four other booking times before we were scheduled to go back home from Florida. Due to weather all of these slot times were cancelled. I think some type of reimbursement or compensation should have been offered since we were unable to reschedule. They state on their website, “if we cancel a tour due to weather or for other reasons, we will either issue a rain-check or all payments will be refunded." I understand we were late for our initial booking time but wish some type of compensation was offered because weather prohibited us from rescheduling but instead we were basically told to deal with it. At the very least I feel a portion of the cost should have been refunded or a voucher should have been offered, which we could have used at a later date or gave to a Tampa resident.

This was a great time! The tour was interesting, the guide was fun, the boat was a blast! We had our 6yo with us and she thought this was a really fun activity!

You're in for a great time at Speedboat Adventure. I had never driven a boat of any kind before this experience and was a little worried that I wouldn't really be able to pick it up. Karie made me feel right at home from the moment I pushed on the throttle. The tour was perfect - informative, interesting, and not so long that it took away from the fun of driving the speedboat. The scenery is beautiful - the bay, the houses, and we even spotted some dolphins surfacing out of the water. Had a great time following them in the boat, trying to keep up with them. I did this with some friends, but I can imagine it's a perfect outing for couples, parents with young kids or teenagers...anyone, really! Highest of recommendations.
