Stand Up Paddleboard Tour in Casco Bay with Oyster Tasting

Overview
Learn the basics of stand-up paddle boarding on land before launching at Mere Point in Brunswick for a leisurely 2.5 hour morning tour of Northwest Casco Bay! We will paddle out to a demonstration oyster farm and then to an island to shuck and taste the briny fresh Maine oysters.

Stand-up paddle boarding is a great, fun way to sight see from the water. We are likely to see cormorants, sea gulls, osprey, great blue herons, snowy egrets, ducks, and we might see fish jumping or a seal.

Paddlers at least 12 years old will love exploring Casco Bay in this protected, scenic, historic area! There will be a break on land where we will stretch, taste the oysters and have some snacks that you bring.

Alice was great, very knowledgeable, and had all the right equipment ready to go. She also took photos and didn’t charge for them which really makes for a more memorable excursion!

I'm so pleased that Covid-19 didn't keep you away from your first SUP experience. You smiled all through the tour, and found treasures at the pocket beach where we stopped for a break. Next time, we'll visit a different area. Thank you for your great review.

My wife and I had our first-ever stand-up paddleboard outing with Alice on a cool, calm and quite Sunday morning in July. After Alice greeted us and gave us a lesson on how to paddle and be safe on the board, we scooted out into glass-smooth Casco Bay. As we calmly and confidently paddled around beautiful Merepoint, Alice told us all about the local area, its history and lore, and the natural formations that make the area so pretty. We enjoyed a mid-outing snack break on a rocky shore, and then paddled back to the dock. Such an enjoyable outing led by a warm and knowledgeable guide!

There is a reason why I prefer to have my stand-up paddleboard tours in the morning. At Mere Point the winds come up around 10 am and stay after 4 pm. That is great for sailing but not for SUP'ng. While it may have been your first trip on a SUP, you mastered the basic skills of "canoeing while standing" and we did have a great time even if the sun wasn't really shining brightly. On the other hand that helped the winds to stay down. Thank you for being "just a little more brave than afraid" and trying stand up paddle boarding with Alice's Awesome Adventures.
