We only had 12 hours to get to the city from JFK, see some of it, eat some pizza and make our next flight. My son wanted to see the Statue of Liberty, but not from inside, and we are adventurous type people, so I figured a speedboat would be the best way to make a tour enjoyable. And boy was I right! We sat in the front of the boat, me, snug in the provided jacket, and my ā€œI donā€™t want to wear a jacket, sonā€ quickly snug in mine. Because, yeah, it was a lovely 68 degrees that day but boy was it chilly on the water! Make sure you bring sunglasses too or your eyes will water so much you wonā€™t see anything, because this boat is FAST! The front seats are designed to sit astride, like on a horse. (Maybe they all are I can only speak for the first 2 rows) but this is awesome because (they have a little handle in the front if you need to pretend youā€™re a bull rider) it enables you to feel secure while you WHOMP your way through the waves created by other boats. Seriously, it was SUCH a good time! I had to quit smiling because my teeth were freezing šŸ˜‚ Our guide, Sean (I think, Iā€™m terrible at names) was perfect, giving us just the right amount of information at each stop, before we were off again, but also answering any further questions we had. It was so cool to also be able to see some parts of NJ and how the two cities interact with each other. Great views of all the bridges, One World, and the SofL. Plus so much more I didnā€™t even know I wanted to see. I highly recommend this trip, especially if you have teenagers that get bored quickly (or heck if you do) because we really felt like we got to see a lot in 90 mins. Also, the location is great because you can also see the 911 memorial and all its accoutrement within like 4 blocks. So if you get started early, you could zip to the top and then boat tour and do it all. We didnā€™t do the one world elevator ride bc heā€™s not big on heights but we DID go get pizza at two different places and I highly recommend Joeā€™s over 2 Bros. While 2 Bros was only 1$ a slice for cheese, Joeā€™s won on taste and crust. Both are only a 10 min walk from the harbor (and a block from each other).

One of the highlights of our holiday, We all thoroughly enjoyed it! I recommend sitting at the back on a hot day, in the shade and less splash!
