Savor the beauty and romance of the New Orleans skyline aboard the Dinner Jazz Cruise. Enjoy the tunes of the Dukes of Dixieland jazz band and a narrated tour provided by our captain while cruising the Mighty Mississippi River.

Please note: there are two seating times for dinner, so please make sure to check availability of both if one is not available. The first dinner seating is from 6-7:15pm and the second dinner seating is from 7:45-9pm.

The Steamboat NATCHEZ is taking some time off, but her sister vessel, the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will be taking her place. You’ll get the same authentic riverboat experience of a leisurely, two-hour cruise on the mighty Mississippi, enjoying traditional live jazz, craft cocktails, and all the beautiful New Orleans sites, while also exploring the newly renovated riverboat. Make sure you check out all four decks - the top deck view is a sight to see! Upgrade your ticket to include the dinner buffet.

In order to help preserve the French Quarter from vehicular traffic, it is requested that you please walk, if possible, to the convenient tour departure point - just a short stroll from most downtown hotels.
The riverboat is handicap accessible. However, access to the top & bottom decks are by stairs only. Please call before finalizing your plans if you have questions on access or personal equipment.

Mississippi River

Your riverboat is a time machine that fills its passengers with the romance and marvel of yesteryear! Cruise along the Mississippi River and be whisked away with its atmosphere and ambiance. As you steam ahead, soak in breathtaking views of the city skyline while enjoying a New Orleans cultural experience – a live jazz performance performed by the New Orleans band Dukes of Dixieland, a Grammy nominee. Enjoy dining inside or outside, and your Louisiana-style buffet dinner includes tossed salad, chicken and sausage gumbo, rice, baked chicken, bayou seafood pasta, paddlewheel primavera, creole vegetarian jambalaya, herb-garlic fingerling potatoes, green beans almondine, white chocolate bread pudding, bananas foster, and vanilla ice cream. Two separate dining times give you the flexibility to enjoy the evening at your own pace. Please note: cruise with dinner option must be selected in order to confirm that your cruise includes the meal.

We were doubled charged. They had booked 2 sets of 2 AND we thought we had purchased the dinner cruise but it was “cruise only”. I was very disappointed. Looked forward to the dinner cruise for 2 days and instead we were charged $200 and we ended up departing before take off so we could go have dinner at some other restaurant. Grayline, you need to work on your booking communication AND fix the glitches in your system. We will think twice if the Grayline logo appears on the attraction from now on and I recommend others to do the same.

It appears that you were only charged for the Cruise (no meal), not double charged. If the booking error numbers were incorrect on our end you would be reimbursed. It is certainly was not our intention to be less than clear on the booking page, and if you booked it yourself please take another look and let us know what is unclear so we can consider changes if necessary

I remember best that we three people were sat at a two people table. The noise and vibrations from the diesel engines at 1st (lowest deck) were just perfect with the draft from the toilets. If it was not for the jazz on the TV speakers (we could not see the band) we would have left. The informed timings were almost right: 18-21 and not 17-21 as viator informed. We sat at the harbour the first hour while dining and the dieselboat then travelled an little hour upstream and returned. The jazz band played around 2x 45 minutes. The food was average - looking back we paid more than enough for the dinner and TV jazz.

I am not sure why you could not see the band. Dependent on weather they play on the rooftop deck or the 3rd deck. (open to the public) We place it on the TV screens for those who cannot make to the 4th deck by stairs, or find the weather disagreeable.
