My experience was not worth the money I paid. In comparable cruises (Boston, NYC), we get higher quality ships, higher quality food and on-board experience.
Overall, this cruise was not worth either the time or money.
The cruise was alright. They seemed to "oversell" the cruise and about 20 people did not have seats at a table. While this was not a dinner cruise, it wasn't a huge deal but that still seemed less than ideal. Additionally, they did not have any soda/pop on the boat even though it was advertised. Instead the bartender offered canned lemonade. The live music was wonderful and the crew did a nice job but I've paid a lot less for a nicer cruise in other Pacific cities.
The bay tour was fine and helped to calm down a rather unsettling day in San Francisco. As a city, San Francisco is not one I would recommend at all for people to visit. Too many homeless, too crowded, getting to tours too complicated (tours should pick you up at the hotel - it is so much more efficient and easy that way). All in all, San Francisco was the low point of our Pacific coast tour. We had a great time going from Seattle down the coast to San Simeon. Should have skipped San Francisco - and this review is from a Canadian. We are usually uncomplaining, friendly people. But not here - Canadians, stay away from San Francisco - too much stress!
