Arriving in the dark of early morning, going for a short ride to the launch sight, watching the crew unpack and inflate this majestic balloon, rising at first light to see the sunrise, floating over the mist and rolling hills of wine country, and listening to the silence were part of the experience that I have a hard time describing. From arrival to post flight brunch, the entire adventure and the hospitality of ours hosts and crew was first class. We still have visions of that great morning.

My wife and I had never flown in a hot air balloon before and it was something we had both wanted to experience. We were both a bit nervous about the idea of floating in a wicker basket hundreds or thousands of feet in the air. Now that we've done it, we're looking forward to our next ride. The ground crew was friendly and professional throughout the morning. Our pilot Dave was calm and confident throughout the flight (important for your first balloon ride) and was a very enjoyable story-teller. Dave also did a good job of answering questions and explaining the basics of what he was doing and how the balloon worked. Gail did a nice job with the post-ride breakfast and provided a generous gift to my wife and I as we were celebrating our anniversary. If we're back in southern California vacationing with our teenage sons we'll be back to have the whole family experience the ride.
